Smog check

Every two years we have smog check come due and dread... We keep up bare maintenance on our vehicles and they are getting older. The car is 15 years old and the van is 10 years old. They have a handful of complaints, but we don't owe anything on them and so we keep driving them as long as they keep running. But Smog, well if we don't pass then we can't get new tags and then there's the cost of repairs and thats assuming it can be repaired reasonably.( The state has a program to help subsidize the cost of repairs if you need assistance or they will help you "retire" your vehicle.) so we just keep hoping, praying and crossing our fingers that smog will pass because then we should be good for two more years. (and besides all that, smog check costs money and who wants a fail and pay so you can fix and pay and resmog and pay.)

Here we are waiting for the yea or nay, its cold and blowing and we make it a family affair everytime. It's funny, the last time we did this, Jeremiah was the same age as Bailee, and the time before, Jacob was the same age as Bailee.
Right now the car is getting checked and the kids are hanging out in the van.
Jacob and Bailee
Jeremiah say "cheese"
yea the car passed inspection and so the kids all move to the car while the van is checked
Aimee hanging out in the back
Joshua, so lucky, because he is the only kid who gets to sit up front(not enough room for all the kids in the back and he's the biggest)

Bailee with David, getting a chance to help daddy out with all the responsibility of the driver seat, you know, turn the steering wheel and make the window roll up and down.

What a crazy bunch. Well the van passed so we are off and relieved to have another two years before coming back.
